I was jazzed up until now. I really like some of the gimmicks on the Bronco but the pricing is out of line for Canada and with it arriving in Spring 2021.... I dunno. I probably wouldn’t want to buy until 2022 because ...first year problems.
Next summer will be our last without kids likley...and in 2022, I will turn 30. Plus.... I could saunter down to any of the 6000 FCA dealers within 50 miles and buy a Jeep tomorrow.
Am I missing someth ing? What is the major upside of a Bronco other than the looks/tech?
$58K for the maxed out Bronco with a 4cyl and manual. $44K currently ($4K of rebates thrown in) for a 6 speed Pentastar Rubicon .

If you can comfortably afford either before you turn 30, my hat’s off to ya.
I’ll be 36 this year and have yet to take out any auto loan. Several years of $600+ monthly payments is a bigly Adult Fear for me.

I would assume the bronco feels much more like driving a car. Not that oppo would care but the masses do.

ehh idk... big tires, body on frame... but i hope it drives better than the wrangler... but like 99% of new cars drive better than wranglers anyways so

Our fleet at work is full of Pentastar Rams and Caravans that engine is. .. completely meh . We’ve recently gotten a few new Rangers into the fleet and I much prefer that motor. Might have something to do with 7,000-8,000 ft elevation though (2,100+ meters). So that alone would have me lean towards the Bronco.

I kinda liked that my Wrangler drove like a LEGO brick on “round” wheels... at most speeds. It was more the aero-”dynamics” at 100+kph that got spicy. Dynamic being the key, and spicy being the sketchy.

I want to see towing capacity on each. That includes the mythical HEMI Jeep.

Oof $44k for a 2 door Pentastar?
I was going to suggest a full optioned 4runner TRD Off-road with KDSS is $46k. Or just wait for 2022 for the next gen 4runner.
Then I saw Canada and looked up Toyota.ca and saw that a base starts at $48k....... ouch

3500lbs for tow package Broncos, both 2 and 4 door.

That's not bad.

Only that it’s the new thing and the JL
Wrangler has been around for 2 years.

Having worked s as t a Chrysler dealership and driven just about everything with a PentaStar in it.
It’s always boring. Always. It was acceptable in the 200/avenger just because it’s a seventy powerful engine for something that size.

I would say the major benefit of the Ford is that it isn't a Jeep.

Give me a 4Runner all day over these, i think the bronco looks better than the jeep, just my opinion.

What did you think of the V6 Charger? It’s 300-ish hp, but 260 torques is not a lot in a 4000lb ca r.

I’m going to go with build quality for $800, Alex.

It’s not great for a body on frame. The Subaru 2020 Outback XT (2.4T) also has a 3,500 pound towing capacity. It might be indicative of lots of things but based on the really stylish front it could be a cooling thing.
Three quick points. It would probably be odd to tow at the limit for the Subaru. Just because it is rated for that doesn’t mean it has the same tongue weight, etc. Second, when did Subaru add XT trim? My first car was a 1985 XT handed down so many times ( I got it after a tree fell on the back quarter). Neat to see that worked back into the mix.
I still want one.

The major difference is the independent front vs the solid front axle. New pickups drive really well and the Bronco is based off the Ranger.

How much is a Ranger dual cab in Canuckistan? Asking because it's an excellent question...

XLT starts at $36K, but it wouldn't fit at my house. I'm kinda limited for space. A 2 door Bronco or Jeep would work but nothing bigger

I’m 30 and took my second (edit: third) auto loan a couple weeks ago. The first was for a used TJR, under $300/month. I traded that for a used Mazdaspeed3 also under $300/month. 2 weeks ago I bought a new JTR (in manual) for more than previous 2 combined (both total and payments).
I have a serious aversion to buying things this expensive and having the payments looming over me, but I ran the numbers and can afford it without adjusting my life in any way. So I took the risk. 2 weeks later and I love driving the thing but need to get that first payment out of the way to cement the whole deal.

Plus way to big for me. I have limited room. 2 door Bronco/Wrangler is max size
